I love the world of K-DRAMA!! X-D

Random thoughts on finishing Rooftop Prince (spoilers included)

Reincarnation theory: two people can't share the same soul in the same timeline.  Also, people who come from different time lines must return or die abruptly in the wrong time line as a self-correcting mechanism of the Space Time Continuum.  Bak Ha cannot live with Yi Gak in the past.  While Yi Gak was here in our time, Tae Yong could not wake up.  When Yi Gak returns to his timeline, Tae Yong awoke.  Fortunately, Yi Gak and Bak Ha got married in this time period, and now they are also tied with the "red string" of Fate, despite being from different eras.

They are now in love, but separated living in different time periods.  Yi Gak had to wait until his time line in Joseon was over, before he could see her again.  He wated 300 years to see her again after their wedding. When souls cross "the river of forgetfulness" they are supposed to drink and forget their past lives.  Some people say that you never truly forget.  That's where "coma theory" comes in.  People say you hear and experience strange things when you're in a coma.  So now, Yi Gak, being tied by the red string to Bak Ha (but not poor Bu Yong) is able to channel himself through Tae Yong.  He is now Tae Yong (with that incredible artistic talent) and retains the memories of his past life as Yi Gak.  Which makes sense, b/c if Tae Mu wasn't in the picture, Tae Yong (who was Yi Gak but didn't remember that he was) would have naturally fallen in love with Bak Ha in New York.

So in theory, if you went to dig up Crown Prince Yi Gak's grave, he'd be in there in body with Bak Ha's ring and necklace.  But the soul is immortal, theoretically, and able to transcend time/distance.

So the point of the story: Fate has it own sense of justice and will right the wrongs of those who try to change it.  Fate (also known as the magic butterfly)  sent Yi Gak here to prevent history from repeating itself, to correct the errant souls (Se-Na) from repeating their mistakes so they can find redemption, and to unite two souls that were really meant to be together.
